Te Whakatipuranga School for Young Parents Tauranga is a partnership between Otumoetai College (the host school), the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic (where the school is situated) and Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Correspondence School) and a Community Advisory Committe
At Te Whakatipuranga students can study most secondary school NCEA subjects (at all levels) as well as a range of National Certicates.
The courses are delivered through a combination of face to face teaching (by school staff) and distance education through Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Correspondence School staff).
Every student is able to undertake a course that is individualised to meet their educational needs and their career goals.
Students are able to use a range of Polytechnic services including the Childcare Centre, the Kohanga Reo, the student health services, the library and the polytechnic gym.
